Duality of change: Emotions

Hey there,

I’ve been seeing this topic come up over and over about challenges being either something to hold you back or to grow from. I think we all are familiar with the concept of mindset and the importance of reframing your thoughts in order to get a different experience out of situations.

It’s true that it’s all about how we look at things. But also, over and over again life seems to be this rich duality of constantly being in between extremes. We always have a choice to see something as dark or light. If we, ourselves, are seeing things as light, then our perception is that way. If we are in a dark mood, we will see other things that way. Now, I’m describing darkness and light for simplicity in writing this, but it’s this way with each emotion. Anger, fear, sadness, happiness, joy. Whatever emotion we are feeling in the moment colors our perception of that experience.

Sometimes it might be difficult to shift out of an emotion but recognizing it and acknowledging it is the first step. Sometimes we might not even know we are not seeing things clearly. Considering other possibilities and thoughts are a perfect way to adjust your perception.
